Boys/Girls State
Boys State - North Dakota Boys State is a dynamic, week-long leadership academy held each June at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. Exclusively for students who have completed their junior year, this immersive program places you in the driver’s seat of a mock state government—with no classrooms, just elections, lawmaking, and leadership in action. Many alumni go on to leadership roles across the state and nation, making this an unforgettable experience both personally and for your future.
Girls State - Flickertail Girls State is a week-long leadership academy at UND for high school juniors. It lets you actually run a mock state government—organizing parties, drafting bills, and holding elections—while building leadership skills, civic knowledge, and lifelong friendships.
